In his short story Axioltl, Cortázar fantasizes about what it would be like to be an axiolotl, and live enclosed in an aquarium. In his narration he concludes that the human that looks at the axiolotl from outside will never be able to understand him, because his thought is thought outside the aquarium.

Rosy stone semblance sprouts from the same concern as Cortázar. How to come close to understanding the silence of animals, behind which there is perhaps an infinite consciousness we ignore? It hints at speculating about what relationship this could have with the disappearance of animals. The film returns upon itself, as if it bounced against a mirror.

En su cuento Axioltl Cortázar fantasea sobre cómo sería ser un axiolotl y vivir encerrado en un acuario. En su narración concluye que el humano que lo mira desde fuera jamás podrá comprenderlo, pues su pensamiento es un pensamiento de fuera del acuario.

Imagen de piedra rosa es un poema visual que nace de la misma preocupación de Cortázar, ¿cómo acercarnos a comprender el silencio de los animales tras el cual quizás se halla una conciencia infinita que ignoramos? Alude a especular sobre qué relación tendría esto con la desaparición de los animales. El film se devuelve sobre sí mismo, como si rebotara sobre un espejo.
